Just launched:

Scott Pelikan surfs everyday. Every single day. One night, after a campfire, he had a visceral, palpable insight that rocked his world and increased his conviction -- many-fold -- to put love into action. In June 2000, he started a project to put random banners of spiritual messages on the web.

Imagine-- Get rich quick. Watch Brittany in concert. Lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks. We can do no big acts, only small acts with great love.

Yup, that's the shock value he was going for. And over the last two years, he arranged for 100 million views of his banners! On the web, it's the top search hit for words like "enlightening". Alexa also tells us that 312 other websites are linked to it, and it's current reach is about 2 million users.

In 2003, Scott became a CharityFocus volunteer. In January 2004, he merged his project with CF. And on Monday, we launched the revamped version of it that is getting RAVE reviews! Check it out, check it out!

Many people to thank for it: Sonya, who designs for Warner Brothers by day and SanteDor by night, did the stunning graphics work as Matt Henning and Paras whipped up an amazing technological force; Viral wrote the content and many others provided the "little things" support that's always required. After launch, Sonya responded with: "I love it, I love it, I love it!" And Matt's two cents were characteristically poignant: "To me this project was CF at its best. You had 4 experts that were on call and willing to put in some really good work. It was based on Scott's selfless idea that he wanted taken to the next level. [...] And the finished project is great so everyone walks away feeling pumped up."

Scott now is leading a team of 8-10 people, as we merge this with Google's Ad-words, possibly integrate Quote-A-Day, and build it into a compelling launchpad that serves inspiring messages ... from sages to everyday heroes to nonprofit organizations.

Thank you all, thank you Scott!

Rockin' and rollin', CF style,

Subject: Thank you!

Hi Everybody,

First I am very thankful for Oneness, the interconnectedness of all things, and that love happens to be one of its qualities.. Every single interaction I have with the people of CharityFocus makes me feel this love. This is really amazing to me and I appreciate it very much.

Now I want to thank everyone who helped build and launch a new site for Inspiring Messages. As you can see from the previous site, I couldn't have done it without you (ha ha). I really like the way it looks. The colors are great. I like the style of landing on a home page that makes you feel good, with no text, and then using the buttons to go where you want. I am thrilled with the text on the "About Us" page. Who wrote that? Its very very good. I think that being able to make your own banners is awesome.

We have a bunch of ideas for things we want to do. Like letting people vote for their favorite banners and using those banners more often than others, showing banners from other charities along with the quote banners so that we represent many organizations and have more clout to get bigger advertising donations, and, um, other things that I forgot right now...

Anyways, thank you all so much.
